Update from Pam after the monthly meeting in April

A message from Pam Hardwick...

Gosh I found yesterday's speaker so emotional but in a good way. There are so many amazing people in our country who undertake epic journeys to raise awareness and funds in the name of certain medical conditions which affect us all in one way or another.
This talk was the pinnacle of the afternoon when our members came together to raise funds for another worthwhile cause, ie Air Ambulance.
There were so many plants and unwanted items for sale which produced a total of £41.50.
I also received a donation from a generous member who had won £100  on Premium Bonds and another who sold a ukulele and donated the £25 received from this sale.
My heartfelt thanks go on behalf of our charity to these members who support this lifesaving cause and indeed to all of you who support in any way you can.
So I have just sent the grand total of £186.50 to Air Ambulance who will be thrilled with Dukeries u3a ongoing support.
Grand total now stands at £9,756.50 👏👏 we will blast through this figure to make £10,000 by the end of this year…oh joy… watch this space dear friends.

Message from Pam after the Irish Night

Hello to all you lovely leprechauns (and other members too)
I have never seen so many leprechauns in one place at one time (not a lot of people can say that) as there were at our Irish Evening last night. There were jokes and games and quizzes throughout the evening followed by a plate of delicious snacks and much merriment at our attempts to compose Limericks.
Leslye did us proud once again with her initiative, hard work and creative skills, we have much to thank her for.
The raffle produced £100 and throughout the month I have been given donations from generous members and also my happy band of gardeners. The total for this month is £213 which has been forwarded to Air Ambulance today.
Congratulate yourselves on the running total of donations from our members and friends in the amount of £9,570.00.
Well done and I hope we can make this total £10,000 by the end of the year.🤞🤞
