  • Juke box jury - Back to the sixties 🎼🎵

We all arrived and the room setup was amazing so we all found our tables and everyone chatted excitedly

Roger was doing his setup to make his home studio, he came all the way from Leicestershire and he built it during covid

Onto the food which was supplied by 'culinary delights' from edwinstowe who served up a delicious ploughman's lunch followed by apple crumble with custard
we ate like kings and queens

There were some fantastic outfits as you can see from the photos above

Roger then introduced the format and set the scene to transport us all back to the sixties, he has a wealth of information and some very interesting facts and figures.

Roger followed the original TV format to the letter and played songs from the 60s from various artists such as The Big Bopper, Beach Boys, The Dubliners, Antony Newley (with Wendy Richard) and Canned Heat to name a few.

the jury panel were amazing and stole the show
Lisbeth with the detailed analysis played it straight which was even funnier
Richard who laughed so hard he looked like a tomato
Ann with her dry comments and quick wit
And last but not least the naughty boy Tony who ran rings around the panel and Roger and made everyone howl with his comments and faux southern bias

there were lots of cheers and jeers from the audience who fell about laughing and clapping

What an absolutely amazing event put on by the events team, another magnificent effort

  • Caribbean Night was 'Irie'

What a colourful night we had at Forest Town arena on July 26th, we were treated to a welcome drink, music from Worksop u3a Steel band and 60s/70s band Spirit.

The dance floor was always heaving, led by our own Marie Louise and we were well fed with a sumptuous buffet

It all finished about 10.45 and we were ready for our beds!
