Silverhill and Cygnets
What a lovely walk we had on Thursday 24th July from the Teversal trail visitor car park onto the Silverhill trail with its iconic statue dedicated to the mining community.
We saw a lovely Swan family with the Cob, Pen and 7 Cygnets, I wish people would keep their dogs on leads as requested by the signs on the walk entrances!
We had some wonderful and very reasonably priced refreshments back at the visitor centre
Thanks again to Hazel and John 😊

lovely Laxton
What a fabulous and varied walk we had in and around Laxton, famous for it's strip farming history, there was a nice breeze which helped with the heat
So many interesting farms and buildings in the village and we were treated to some marvellous views on the footpaths.
We finished having drinks and picnics at the Dovecote pub
Many thanks to Hazel and John for organising a tremendous walk once again

Southwell and Maythorne

Eleven of us had a cracking walk yesterday (29th May) starting and finishing at Reg Taylor's garden centre in Southwell. We walked along the Southwell Trail near to the Final Whistle pub and turned right after a mile or so into the pretty village of Maythorne with its lovely old properties and fishing lake and a currently closed teatroom (opening Summer 2025)
We walked almost 4 miles then retired to the garden centre tearoom where we had some tasty snacks and hot drinks / beers.
Many thanks to Hazel and John once again and I hope we can do this walk sometime when the tearoom in Maythorne is open
Regards Paul
