A group for members to enjoy short walks of approximately 3 to 4 miles in the local area every other Thursday.
Walkers will decide which walk to select next as there is no specified group leader. Anyone on the WhatsApp Walkers app can initiate a walk by text and ask others to join them. The way to join is to text Hazel on 07484 728027 with your smartphone number and then all texted messages will be seen by everyone in the group.

Southwell and Maythorne
Eleven of us had a cracking walk yesterday (29th May) starting and finishing at Reg Taylor's garden centre in Southwell. We walked along the Southwell Trail near to the Final Whistle pub and turned right after a mile or so into the pretty village of Maythorne with its lovely old properties and fishing lake and a currently closed teatroom (opening Summer 2025)
We walked almost 4 miles then retired to the garden centre tearoom where we had some tasty snacks and hot drinks / beers.
Many thanks to Hazel and John once again and I hope we can do this walk sometime when the tearoom in Maythorne is open

Happy Birthday John 🎂
We all had a chilly but enjoyable walk around Bothamsall on the 'three bridges' walk, although we crossed around 5 bridges on our route.
We went to the Thaymar ice cream parlour and all had a lovely meal and drinks and sang to John and presented him with a gift and card from everyone in thr group.
Happy Birthday John and we hope you have a great holiday next week 😎

Bevercotes beauty
It was a frosty start to the day but with the sunshine and a lovely walk we were all warm after setting off at Bevercotes pit wood. We walked a circular clockwise route with a few hills but we had great views at the top and a few crossings of the rivers Meden and Maun. We retired to Thaymar cafe and ice cream farm afterwards for hot drinks, snacks and even the odd 99 🍦
